I love this market--and it's always one of the stops we have to make before we get to our condo. Friendly staff, and the best gumbo I've ever tasted. They can supply it to you in various sizes, frozen or fresh. We loved it so much...we gave it as Christmas presents last year. The smoked tuna dip is also delicious.

If you're looking for fresh seafood, this is a great place. Purchased 2 lbs of the large shrimp. I was immediately greeted with friendly, attentive staff, who even offered me a sample of [delicious] shrimp bisque. Nice touch! Because of that, keeping the bisque in mind for another time to come back for. They also have wines, cheeses, meats, marinades, etc.

Great place to pick up wine, seafood hors d'oeuvres or entrees. They also have inexpensive travel coolers (ice provided) with their insignia that are good for gift presentation or travel.

We vacation in Gulf Shores most every year. We always have at least 2 boiled shrimp nights. We ALWAYS get our shrimp from Blalock Seafood on Canal Rd. There is another location but we've never been to that one. The shrimp is always excellent and fresh. We get a pound of shrimp per person which is normally about $11 a pound. They also have fresh fish fillets, a decent wine selection, and other last minute items you might need. Highly recommend.

I stopped in Blalock's to get steamed crawfish but there was none due to recent bad weather in Louisiana. And it does not look hopeful for the upcoming 4th of July weekend either. I ended up getting oysters to bake. Blalock's price ($12.90) for a pint of raw oysters was better than Gulf Shores Seafood ($17.99) and S & S Seafood ($15.99). The store has a great selection of seasonings, condiments, side items, specialty meats, cheeses and wines to complement your seafood purchase. Blalock's cooked foods consists of fresh baked French bread, gumbo, shrimp bisque, steamed shrimp & snow crab legs (for 50 cents extra per pound), boiled crawfish dinner with corn & potatoes, etc. They do not fry at Blalock Seafood so for those looking fried seafood, just head over to Doc's Seafood Shack.

Was able to place bigger order on his website. Mr blalock personally called shortly that he could handle the order. Nice little shop. Sauces, rubs, dried pasta in store section. It was my first time here and was glad to find this store. Mr blalock the shrimp were awesome. My folks got their first taste of royal reds! Will be back for sure!

5 stars is right - Do yourself a favor and cook at home one night. These guys are great. Seafood is so fresh and staff is great. This was our best meal of the trip.

I should have written this a month ago - but you know how it is - you just get busy and then have to come back when you have some time. I have loved Blalocks for years. Every visit to Orange Beach included multiple stops here. They now have 2 locations and both are great. Simply put, if you are in the Orange Beach area, take a break for the restaurant madness and cook at home. You will not get fresher seafood anywhere on the coast. On top of that, the guys at Blalocks will make great recommendations about the fish. We picked up redfish several times that week that came literally - straight off the boat - hours before. It was unbelievable. My family is a different bunch when we go to the coast - I love cooking with my wife, and hate the crowds & waits at all the places on the coast. Out regular routine will be 7 nights down and out to eat maybe 1 or 2. We will never miss Blalocks. It is about seafood overload and we do a great job with their help!

Great experience, we will return! We were pleased with the fresh seafood we got here along with the large selection of ingredients they sold to help cook our dishes (Old Bay crab cake mix, AMAZING French bread, lemon juice), in addition to tons of great items in their market. No need to go to a grocery store after visiting here to complete your meal. Several little aisles of wines, chutneys, sauces, side dishes, etc...more than I have seen at other little beach town seafood markets.

Cleanest seafood market I've ever been in. No Fishy Smell! Good quality seafood,helpful staff , a little pricey. We found Billy's Seafood prices to be several dollars cheaper, but also far off the beaten path.
